Win £1,500 of Helly Hansen kit with TrailPlus

We’ve teamed up with Helly Hansen and TrailPlus to offer you (and two friends) the chance to win more than £1,500 kit, as well as a free team entry to an event in the 2009/10 Helly Hansen Adventure Challenge Series.

That’s right: we’ll kit out all three of you with jackets, mid-layers, base-layers, tights and bags, guaranteed to make you one of the best-dressed teams taking part in the UK’s largest and most enjoyable team adventure experience. You’ll then be invited to put your new kit to the test in a Helly Hansen Adventure Challenge event at one of five stunning venues across the UK.

We’ve more goodies up for grabs too. Twenty runners-up will walk away with a £20 discount voucher, redeemable against the cost of a single team entry to a Helly Hansen Adventure Challenge of their choice.

The Challenge

Brought to you by TrailPlus (the team behind the infamous Hellrunner™ series), the Helly Hansen Adventure Challenge Series is the ideal multi-sport event for weekend warriors and newbies alike.

An adventure journey like no other, expect to face up to 10K off-road running, more than 20K of mountain-bike trails, a cosy three-seater inflatable kayak and of course, a number of “special” challenges thrown in for good measure.

The Kit

The Helly Hansen brand has been renowned for its products performing at the most extreme altitudes and latitudes since the 19th century. After many years at sea, Norwegian captain Helly Juell Hansen and his wife Maren Margarethe began producing oilskin jackets, trousers, sou'westers and tarpaulins as early as 1877.

Staying comfortable in the outdoors in any weather condition is at the core of Helly Hansen’s design philosophy. All their garments are created with the purpose of moving excess heat and moisture away from the skin to help the body maintain its ideal temperature for performing strenuous exercise.

Here’s what you (and two friends) will receive if you win:

  • Verglas Jacket (RRP £300)
Three-layer waterproof and breathable protection packed with performance features (including full-stretch body, “pit zip” venting, one-hand hood adjustment and water-resistant zips).

  • Lifa™ Baselayer (RRP £30 - £35)
The foundation of Helly Hansen’s Stay Dry Technology™ and made from polypropylene - the driest fibre on earth. Polypropylene pulls sweat and excess heat away from skin for extended dryness no matter how long you’re on the trail, unlike polyester and wool alternatives that actually absorb moisture.

  • Half-zip mid-layer (RRP £60-70)
A technical jersey with exceptional moisture-movement properties. The mid-layer can be worn as a layering piece on colder days or alone as a base layer, and uses Lifa™ technology and features such as flat lock stitching to make your adventure challenge will be a whole lot more comfortable.

  • Trailwizard Tight (RRP £45)
Featuring Lifa™ Stay Dry Technology, 360 degree back pockets and leg zips.
We’ll also ensure that your stunning Helly Hansen gear gets the treatment it deserves by throwing in a large, stylish duffel bag.
