Thank you all for your help. I didn't realise that we just replied to the thread, I thought that meant I'd be replying seperately to a 'member's' post. Thanks again, I posted a response now.

I was very dissapointed to receive another rejection for the Flora London Marathon. It is my ambition to run the marathon and particularly in my 50th year. I have been running on and off for the last 5 years, however this last year is the first that I have continued to run over the winter and what a difference it has made instead of having to break the 3 mile barrier in the Spring I have managed to improve my times. 2007 I ran the Lake Vernyw Half Marathon in 2:16. April this year I ran my first 10K in 60+ mins then was delighted to run 10K in 59mins in June. I completed the Birmingham Half - Marathon in 2;09.

I will be 50 in March and am much fitter now than I was hitting 40. I am still quite amazed at myself as I hated PE at school have never had an interest in sport and can now outrun my husband and teenage boys (over a distance though - not speed). What amazes me is that I am actually improving - running faster. If I am fortunate to win a place to be coached for the London Marathon I would hopefully reach my potential and know what I am capable of. I would certainly be committed. To run the London Marathon has been a dream for me since it first started when I never believed that I could actually run.

Thank you for consideration of my entry. Good luck to all.

Adele .. this needs to go in the correct thread
Posted: 07/11/2008 at 21:08

That's great Adele.  Now you just need to get it in the right thread.

Personally I was very tempted, but I've decided it fits with my personal plans, both training wise and with current work commitments, if I enter next year.  Hope they do it next year...
