The experience: The ridges along the rugged Mirador Condor trail in Torres del Paine National Park, south Chile, provide a panoramic perspective of the region’s lakes and mountains.
The trail rises 240m, offering a world of silence during the climb. ‘It’s wind or nothing,’ Hanson says. ‘There is no ambient sound.’
