Runner’s World Trailblazer races return!

Take part in the perfect woodland 10K race this spring as our Trailblazer series returns

trailblazer runner's world

If you ran a Trailblazer race last year, you'll already know what knockout events they are. If you didn't, read on.

Trailblazer, sponsored by Saucony, is a firm and fast 10K trail run set in stunning woodland. There are three locations to choose from: Bedgebury (Kent), the Forest of Dean (Gloucestershire) and Clumber Park (Nottinghamshire) – scroll down for more about each event.

Sign up now and get into the great outdoors with fellow RW runners. The Trailblazer Village at each race is the perfect excuse to bring along friends and family - with music, entertainment, food and drink outlets and free post-race sports massages there's something for everyone.

RW Race Editor Kerry McCarthy says: "Even if these races weren't the creation of Runner's World, I'd still be raving about them. Often trail runs can be long on cutesy and short on efficient organisation, but these have both. Each of the three races in the series share certain features: a bustling race village; impeccable course planning and marshalling, and a beautiful woodland setting.

"Added to that are unique features that give each race a personality of its own. The Clumber Park race (set in one of the most beautiful parts of Sherwood Forest) features a memorable bridge crossing over the ornamental lake; Bedgebury Park has an eerily thrilling tunnel of looming ancient conifers to run through, while the Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest, is awe-inspring in its majesty – staring up at the treetops high up in the distance makes you feel like a Hobbit."

What you said: “This year's Trailblazer was a blast. It was perfectly organised with beautiful scenery and a challenging course. There were water stations throughout and a variety of surfaces (soft, gravel, trail, grass). I received my best goody bag yet and if you’re a medal collector, you’ll bag a really nice one.” hektoria runs

What you said: “Other races will just seem bland compared to this! A great atmosphere with lots going on for all the family gave this a real day out feel. The race itself was great too and the route was challenging enough to push you. Probably the best race I've entered so far.” Lee Price

What you said: “Beautiful route with an excellent goody bag. Clumber Park is an excellent location with enough challenging undulations to keep any runner happy. The staggered start was essential on the narrow trails and meant you weren't being constantly mown down by faster runners…I will definitely be adding this to my race calendar for next year.” The_Dobster
