RW Previews: Discovery 10K, Sept 27

Euro runners cross The Channel

Posted: 1 September 2003

Where and when?
Saturday, September, 27, Harwich, Essex.

What is it?
If you’re looking for an event with a more European flavour, this might fit the bill. With more than 500 runners making the trip from Holland, Belgium and Germany, the Discovery is an ideal opportunity to test your legs against foreign competitors. The one lap course is run along the sea-front and has a short climb near the finish.

What the organisers say:
“More like a fun run atmosphere, with the foreign runners adding to the excitement."

Watch out for:
The Lifeboat Challenge Race: a battle-royal between lifeboat crews from around Europe.

Any extras?
Prizes for the first man and woman to reach 2.5K, plus spot prizes.

Includes a 5K fun run.
