First Woman Lucy Foster 21:32

The inaugural Brighton Santa Dash on December 8 saw runners tackle a flat 5K along the seafront from Brighton’s Peace Statue to Hove Lagoon and back again.

More than 450 runners who took up the challenge were thankful for the Santa suits included in the race fee when the heavens opened.

"It was biblical: chuck in some locusts and it would have been like something from the Old Testament," organiser James Macdonald said of the weather afterwards.

But despite the wind and rain everyone enjoyed their moment as Santa. Jamie Aspin won the Dash in 20:17, while Lucy Foster was first lady in 21:32.
