Where Carmarthen
When April 13, 2009
First Man Mark Crook 16:39
First Woman Emily Downey 19:25

The Carmarthen Mayor’s 5K in south-west Wales has established a reputation in its 27 years for being an excellent family-focused event.

This year’s main race on April 13 was a three-lap circuit of the town centre. The route was – aside from a few minor inclines – flat, and was made even faster by the roads having been closed to traffic.

There were also seven different mini-races for primary and secondary-school children from the area, and prizes were given out for best fancy dress costume at the end.

Mark Crook was first man in 16:39 and Emily Downey was first woman in 19:25.
