It’s not always a good thing when a race doesn’t live up to its name, but 250 competitors at the Chilly Willy Men-Only 5K were grateful for a break in the cold weather.

The race, held in Peterborough on March 8, kicked off in gentle, if intermittent, sunshine.

Many competitors were first-timers lured by the flat Tarmac course around Ferry Meadows Country Park.

And their decision proved right; the only problem during the loops around Lynch and Overton Lakes came from curious dog walkers straying onto the course.

Neil Addison was first over the line in an impressive 16:22.
