Runners lining up for the start of the sold-out Garstang 10K on January 14 were rewarded with beautiful weather after weeks of grey skies. They’d turned out for a great value race that offers a course with definite PB potential.
After the start at Garstang High School, around 500 runners completed a loop round the back of the school before heading out for another loop through country lanes bathed in bright sunshine.
The race raised money for the Friends of Garstang High School, who also provided the enthusiastic marshals encouraging runners so noisily at the finish. Andrew Thake was first back in 31:55, with Sarah Ridehalgh first lady in 39:49.
