RW Race Report - Great Malvern Run Half-Marathon

Where Malvern, Worcestershire
When May 21, 2006
First Man David Peach 1:16:42
First Woman Helen Taylor 1:26:09

After months of planning, the rain did its best to make the inaugural Great Malvern Run half-marathon on May 21 a damp squib.

However, despite some grumbles about the traffic jams before the start, most of the nearly 500 competitors who turned out had nothing but praise for the organisation and the quality of the course.

It wasn't an easy route but in keeping with the area, it was a gently undulating circuit starting and finishing in the Three Counties Showground.

First man back was David Peach in 1:16:42 while Helen Taylor was only 20 places further back to take the women's title in 1:26:09.
