The organisers of this year's event averted a backlash from runners, when they ditched plans at the last minute to change the course from an undulating
one-lap road race to five flat laps of a local industrial estate.
Fortunately public opinion won out and the original route – a simple but enjoyable leafy jaunt through reasonably quiet Hampshire roads – was stuck to.
This is a run for the true racing enthusiast. There's nothing particularly outstanding about it, but what it lacks
in pizzazz it makes up for in efficient organisation and a fast course that manages to combine just the right
number of undulations to make any
PB feel well earned.
