First Woman Jennifer Clague 1:15:43

The Lake Vyrnwy Half-Marathon on September 9 was such a success that 100 per cent of runners who rated it online said they would do the race again.

Comments ranged from "the best half I have ever done" to "excellent organisation, superb location and a really fast course". Even the weather – overcast with a cool breeze – was perfect for this race which begins with a gradual incline before 11 flat miles and a descent to the finish.

There was a minute’s silence before the race in memory of Oswestry Olympians President Doug Morris, who sadly passed away recently, but the real tribute to him was the race itself.

Paul Sankey was first in 1:11:28, with Jennifer Clague first lady and 10th overall in 1:15:43.
