If you turned up at the St Neot’s Riverside Half-Marathon on November 18 expecting river views, you’d have been disappointed.
The race name refers to the club that organises this event, but there is still plenty of scenic Cambridgeshire countryside to attract runners.
A cold wind hampered progress in the first few miles, but a gradual four-mile descent to the finish helped many runners back on track to a good time. Great organisation, accurate mile markers and chip timing also helped runners to perform – and check their results online within minutes of finishing.
Matt Blunden finished first in 1:09:16, with Astrid McKeown first lady in 1:20:16.
