The Standish Autumn Trail Race is a twice yearly chance to test yourself over 10 kilometres of trails near Wigan.
Last year's autumn running on October 15 saw more than 130 racers take to the fields in a bid for glory, or at least to enjoy a run out over a scenic and traffic-free course.
The number of entrants has remained steady for the last three stagings and the organisers reckon this makes the event an established part of the north west racing scene.
Pleasant conditions both overhead and underfoot saw a keenly contested race with Nick Leigh coming out on top in 35:57 in the men's event, and Sally Newman beating the rest of the women in 42:45.
