When July 17, 2008
First Man Phil Wicks 14:18
First Woman Deya Rivera Luna 18:21
More than 6,000 runners took to the streets for a quick 5K dash round the City of London on the evening of July 17.
The Standard Chartered Great City Race was open to individual runners of all types, but also offered the chance for companies to enter teams of four as part of an industry-by-industry corporate competition.
British
ex-Olympic hurdler Colin Jackson was in attendance to open proceedings and, despite some overcrowding in the first section, the cool weather and super-flat course meant some speedy times were recorded.
Phil Wicks was the first man in 14:18 while Deya Rivera Luna was the first woman in 18:21.
