It was a wet 'n' wild affair at the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon on October 5, but the appalling weather merely served to create a siege mentality among the 368 runners.
The route was an anticlockwise loop around the centre of the island, with the start and finish along Victoria Avenue, looking out over the stunning St Aubin’s Bay.
The efficiency of the organisation matched that of big-city races, but with none of the fuss or hanging about.
First man was Andrew Hennessy in 02:29:05, with
Jo Gorrod first woman in 02:58:14.
