UK 2002 Marathon Calendar

I ran this race in 3:05 in 2002. This is the marathon for a fast time ! And it is in a beautiful part of Scotland under Ben Nevis. It is an out and back course on the same road (13 miles each way !) but dont be put off it is very good for pacing. There were some 250 runners so it is not too lonely. Every second year it holds the Scottish Championship, so I would enter then as you get a better standard. When I did it Jamie Reid ran 2:21, the fastest time in the UK outside of London ! The scenery is staggering and Fort William if you like walking doesnt get any better. I'll be back as I think this race is the secret that a lot of English runners should know about.

Having enjoyed my trip up north for last years Loch Ness Marathon I have already got my eye on this one for the 25th April 2004.

Depends on my FLM acceptance though.

I've done the half, which is on the same route (but only half way, strangely enough!) and would agree wholeheartedly with your comments.

I'm a marathon virgin, with a form for London in my mit.

If I don't get an entry, it's a toss-up between Lochaber and Paris.

Two Pies... I did both in 2003 ....Lochaber in cold damp conditions with 250 people or Warm Paris with 29000 people ....no contest Do Paris

Go on, you've been promising the Glenparkers for months that you were going to try it out. It's the club's opener for the Winter season and there's usually a good turnout.
