Time: 4:24

After successfully completing my first marathon yesterday, here is my snapshot on the whole event!

Best moment: Without wishing to be too obvious the feeling of running round the Cutty Sark and over Tower Bridge was amazing having for years watched those memorable sights on TV it was overwhelming to be there actually doing it!

Worst moment: Without a question of a doubt... the cobbles, oh I could have cried, how cruel to go through those in at that stage!

The biggest surprise: To me had to be was the amazing support, especially in those conditions it made those 8 months of training all worth it!

My Goal: Sub 4:00hrs maybe a little ambitious, my finishing time 4:24, in all honesty by 20 miles time went out the window and it was all about survival and making it to the finish without walking.

As for celebration: My wife surprised me with a bottle of champagne, (Not idea for re-hydration) but coupled with a McDonald's drive through, perfect!

Anything I would have done different: Well perhaps a few more longer runs, just to condition those legs a bit better and hopefully make those last few miles a little more pleasurable. All in all wonderful experience and I am already thinking about next year!!

In the photo I am on the right!
