How was it for you? - Quotes and pictures from London 04

Time: 3:24

Best moment: Every time someone shouted out my name. I had my name written on my running vest.

Worst moment: Along Birdcage Walk, thinking my chance of setting a PB was slipping away and seeing fellow runners either stopping or walking.

Biggest surprise: At one of the water drink stations, seeing a butler with silver tray serving water!

Most memorable moment: At Westminster, a spectator on seeing me glance at my watch shouts out "forget the time mate, it's the finishing that matters!"

Goal: Finish under 3 1/2 hours

Finishing Time: 3:24:00, a PB, but only just!

What would I have done differently: Not slowed down in the last 6 miles?

Key to success: Getting tanked up with sports drinks at the start and throughout the run. Doing a triathlon 2 weeks earlier. Skiing the Easter weekend?

Celebrating: Straight after the finish, a couple of beers with friends in a pub near Trafalgar Square. Then the charity post-race bash.
