Caught and tagged on with Sean and his colleague (3.45 pacers) from about 2 miles and stuck with them until 22/23 miles. Couldn't quite hold the pace over the last 3, but finished in 3.48 which is my best mara for 4 years.
My splits were 1.54.15 and 1.54.02. Big thanks to them both for what is a difficult job, especially in the second half when the masses in front are slowing. Have to say that I really enjoyed and benefitted from having a group to run in, although I wasn't able to be very communicative at the time!
