My 2004 London Marathon

How was it for you? - Quotes and pictures from London 04

My training went well until Easter weekend when I had a heavy cold for 4 days. Did 1.50 at Silverstone Half and 3.15 at Oakley 20. I felt fit enough to do sub.4.30 until I got underway, when I realised the effects of a cold were worse than I thought. I knew this when I was passed by the ironing board.

The crowd at Canary Wharf were great and all of the others around the marathon. I have read many times that having a cold in the last couple of weeks should mean not running - my wife knew better than me, and she does not run.
