New half marathon heads to Hackney

The inaugural Hackney Half Marathon hits the east end this June.

Hackney is set to close its roads to cars for the very first time ever this June 22, paving the way for the inaugural Hackney Half Marathon. 10,000 runners are expected to participate, making it one of London's biggest half marathons.

Runners will get to enjoy a flat, fast, closed road circuit, perfect for beginners and great for setting PBs.

The 13.1 mile route will take runners right through the heart of the leafy borough, enjoying local sites such as the famous Hackney Empire, Broadway Market and London Fields, finishing in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
