Race picks for Spring

The days are getting longer, the sun's starting to shine and daffodils are springing alive: it can only mean one thing - spring is ahoy. Capital Runners Richmond Park Easter Sunday 10K

When: Sunday 31 March

Where: Richmond, Surrey

Why: Blow away the winter cobwebs and embrace the Easter treats involved in this fast-paced traffic-free event through a scenic Richmond Park.

Thorney 10K

When: Sunday 24 March

Where: Thorney, Peterborough

Why: “A fast flat course, although the Fen roads offer no shelter from the wind when it starts to blow. I always enjoy Thorney races, they are well organised excellent marshals.” - a quote from Girlie in the RW forum.

Northampton Run Fest Half Marathon

When: Sunday 31 March

Where: Delepre Abbey, Northampton

Why: A picturesque off-road half marathon, with picture-postcard lake views and forest trails promised.

Hinton Admiral 10K

When: Sunday 31 March

Where: Hinton Admiral, Hinton

Why: The debut year of this local event which explores woodland and a bluebell avenue. Multiple laps and a varied terrain make up the course.

Ryton Race and Ramble

When: Sunday 17 March

Where: Shifnal, Shropshire

Why: Enjoy the best of the spring in the countryside on this rural race and ramble across farm and historic parkland. An undulating race profile with hot food and drinks available.
