In short: Ideal spring marathon prep race
In full: Brilliant organisation. Having the car park, loos, number pick-up, start/finish etc in close proximity is perfect. Don't know when it was changed but getting the airfield section out of the way first has made this race better.

In short: Very impressed - well done to all
In full: Can't really add to anything good that's already been said. Just a very enjoyable, well organised event. Loads of runner-to-runner spirit and the marshalls were very good too. Managed to knock 16 mins off my time in 2011, so that was the icing on the cake..

In short: My favourite pr-marathon race!
In full: For me - the perfect race. Starting on the Top Gear track is special - my friends in Australia were blown away! Friendly atmosphere and great course made even better by the support from the marshals. I think this enthusiasm spread to the runners. Loved the finish of the race down the straight and the support of the RD was a nice touch. This was my first Spitfire and I will definitely be back next year. Well done to all those involved in the organisation of this event.

In short: Very well organised and great pre-Spring marathon preparation
In full: Don't normally like races that involve laps, the decent scenery makes this the exception.
Didn't race it flat out due to impending Spring marathon, but there were plenty of water stations and more gels offered than anyone could ever need, topped off with excellent marshaling and easy parking.
Good course that is fairly flat except for three fairly small hills.

In short: 10 out of 10
In full: I selected this race as preparation for my first marathon in May and I’m so glad I did – simply put this race was everything I could have hoped for and more.

I was quite nervous about getting to the venue as there was a note on the website saying not to trust your Sat Nav as it would take you to the wrong entrance; however the race organisers had put signs up well before the venue so you couldn’t get lost. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who found it really useful.

I found this event was really useful for finding my “marathon pace” and had some good hills in for variety.

Whilst I was running with my own water supply, there was plenty of water on route, energy gels and sweets.

Parking was effortless and plenty of loos too.

Massive thank you to the race organisers for putting on a great race and the marshals who would have been standing outside (on not the warmest day on record) for hours, but were so warm and encouraging – these people really do make an event.

Couldn’t recommend this event highly enough! 10 out of 10 for sure

Finally, for those runners who like their Bling after a race – you’ll love the medal!

In short: An excellent, well organised and perfectly timed race.
In full: Perfect even for beginner marathon/long distance runners like me. A great run with amazing volunteers and food/drink stops everywhere. Very pleased I did this run. Great medal too!

In short: Perfect event for pre marathon 20 miler
In full: My longest run ever, in preparation for my first ever marathon. 20 miles did not seem to bad, as this event had everything needed to make it as painless as possible. Well signposted for arriving by car, loads of parking just a short walk from toilets and start. I had collected my number already from the shop in Ashtead, so all I had to do was join the relatively short loo queue, then get to the start. As no-one had earphones, there were plenty of folk keen to chat to pass the miles. All the marshalls were friendly, even they looked freezing cold. Lots of water stations with gels and jelly babies. I wondered if it would be tough to run past my car at the start of the second lap but it wasnt a problem, and at least on the second lap I knew where the hills were. Great medal, and nice handshake at the end.
Roll on London - I am so much better prepared now!
