In full: first time but not the last. well organised race including road, track, mud and water. not forgetting a couple of nasty hills and 2 fallen trees to get over. well marshalled and very encouraging. lovely views, apart from no bluebells.

In short: Beautiful run with a couple of challenging hills.
In full: I thought this 12km race was excellent. The organisation was super and the scenery beautiful. Marshals were very friendly and the course was very well marked. There are two big steady hills which you need to pace yourself on as they go on for longer than you first think. My only criticism would be that the first water stop was far too early (we had bearly started running), it would have been much better served at the very top of the second hill. Overall though a great race!

In short: Excellent countryside trail run from a quiet sleepy village and through a beautiful deciduous forest bereft of traffic and noise. One really tough hill about half way and a shame the Bluebells remained hidden!

In short: lovely tour of Wiltshire countryside
In full: Could have been a lot muddier if not for the frozen ground. Nice mixture of gently rolling countryside for the first 5 miles including a bit of Kennet and Avon canal followed by massive steep ups and downs with a long run in to the finish when the body has had enough!

In short: Great race, monster climbs, nice dip at the end
In full: This was my first multi-terrain race, really enjoyed it. The ground was pretty hard although there were some patches of mud, tough on the ankles as some of the surfaces were quite rutted but if it had been muddy the climbs would have been more tiring so bit of a trade off really. The marshals were great and there were lots of them so the course was always clear and the big line of runners meant you were never in any doubt about where to go. The four main climbs were hard and I mainly walked especially after the first one, but all part of the challenge and what makes the event stand out from a normal cross country for me. The dip the River Avon in the last mile was ok and a good way to finish off the course. The cakes and tea at the end were very welcome, someone must have baking for weeks. I was near the back of the field but there were still plenty of cakes left. Would definitely like to do this race again.

In short: Tough but gret atmosphere
In full: This race must have something as I keep coming back every year. Very tough, but good spirit amongst the runners and very friendly marshals. Particular thanks to the marshals as it was bitterly cold, not a day for standing around.
