In short: Great organisation! Great support from the good people of MK! Great weather! Loved it! In full: To my surprise, I really enjoyed this marathon. The good weather brought out lots of support though granted it was sparse in places particularly the last few miles. However, the course was interesting and varied, generally flat though there is a lot of rise and fall as underpasses were negotiated. This combined with a number of twists and turns doesn't make it a particularly fast course but fast times are possible. Water stations were frequent and they needed to be with the fine hot conditions and there were a couple of opportunities to guzzle blackcurrant Gatorade yum! yum! All in all a great race just a shame numbers were down on last year. Where were you - you missed out! Date of review: May 15, 2013

In short: Well organised, great support, interesting course In full: I found this a great race. There are inclines and twists and turns but it did give variety to the course. Crowd support was great and the only fault I can think regarding the organisation was that I couldn't hear what was going on at the start. The stadium finish was icing on the cake. Not too crowded so didn't feel at any time that I was hemmed in. No queues for the loos at the start, now that doesn't happen very often! Plenty of water stations (bottles - yippee) and the people manning them were very efficient. A friendly race with a big marathon venue feel. I hope this marathon has many more successful years. This was meant to be my last marathon, but I managed to beat my Abingdon time and may be just maybe if the weather wasn't quite so hot I could just go a little bit quicker.... tee hee! In short: Good organisation, undulating, not flat In full: What would have been a very nice run was made challenging by the 21C heat. Lots of parklands and excellent support / enccouragement from locals. However, the 2nd half of the race did seem quite undulating - I train (up to 22 miles) with 3 x Grade 5 climbs and this race ended up being not far short of that (in terms of overall climbing). However, I'm sure it felt alot worse than it should have as a result of the weather. Woudl I do it again - yes, if the wife allows me... Date of review: May 14, 2013

In short: Hot but well organised and great support! In full: Even though it was a horrible hot day (which normally I would love) , the race was well organised and all the volunteers were brilliant especially the volunteers at the water stations. It was great finishing in the stadium and what I personally liked was at the start there were loads of toilets and therefore no queues. So I could go to the toilet 10 mins before the start not worrying about queuing up etc. I have done London so I thought the support would not be that great but I was totally wrong and there was loads of support and people were really encouraging especially towards the end when I debating whether to stop and not finish but they keep me going. I am not going to do a marathon again but I would highly recommend this marathon to anyone wanted to do one

In short: Good course for first time marathon finishing in the stadium In full: Really enjoyed this for my first marathon although wasn't thinking that at the half way point, mixture of town running ,housing estates and country side with 2 or 3 lakes to run past well marshalled and plenty of water stations, great finish running into the football stadium .
