In short: Another well organized Chester Half, with some good support on the way In full: Well organized as ever - a great race. I'll just mention a couple of minor points for further improvement - I'm sure the organizers of this event read this and take note!
At the start, the signs indicating where to line up, based on estimated finish time, read 'sub-1:30' and 'sub-1:40'. I'd have prefered it if they had simply read '1:30', '1:40' - then I'd know exactly where to line up based on my estimated finish time. The prefix 'sub' just makes things a bit more confusing. (Just behind the 'sub-1:30' sign got -very- crowded, pehaps as a result.)
The other thing is that the timing mats at some of the intermediate points seem somewhat out of place, by up to about a minute either way. Not that this is much of a concern, but it is nice to be able to have accurate 10k, half-way, 10 mile splits.
(One last thing - I still prefer the old course. I miss the -real- hill at the end!) Date of review: May 27, 2015
In short: Excellent race for seasoned or new runners alike In full: Good run, amazing atmosphere the only thing I would do is have more of the course run within Chester to make the most of the lovely city centre. Date of review: May 23, 2015
In short: Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic In full: I ran the race with 2 friends. It was my third time and the first half for both my friends. All of us finished the race with huge smiles, and enjoyed a post race pint together in the Town Hall square as we cheered on the later finishers. Chester is a great location for a race, and I am now looking forward to my 3rd Chester Marathon in October. Date of review: May 23, 2015

In short: Enjoyed from start to finish! In full: Had just got over an injury so was uncertain I'd get round. Took it easy and enjoyed it all the more. Was expecting the course to be a little uninspiring, out and back on Parkgate Road, but the crowds and the random entertainment along the route kept me smiling. The finish up Canal St and Northgate was fantastic!! See you next year. Date of review: May 22, 2015
In short: Great race fantastically run, a firm race for every year In full: A very well organised race, fantastically run by people who care. Has made me want to try the metric marathon next year too. Date of review: May 22, 2015
In short: really well organised In full: The course is sold as mostly flat- I'd disagree and hated the hill right at the start and even worse at the end! There were no supporters round lots of the course and even where there were some they were very quiet, no clapping or cheering, which made for a poor atmosphere. Great t-shirt and medal. Now I know what to expect I would do it again. Date of review: May 21, 2015
