In short: Awesome
In full: I completed the half (my first) whilst a friend completed the full (his first). Without doubt a superb race. Organisation was brilliant lots of marshalls who were excellent, tough terrain but the course layout was such that the more inexperienced runners could still compete.
Goody bag was ridiculously good value, coaster, t-shirt, salomon socks, water bottle, gel bottle, and gels.
Will be back next year to do the full. Can see it being a sellout as soon as entries open.
Thank you to Matt the organiser, the Marshalls and all the competitors who made it such a special day. Diolch

In short: The best orgainsed and best value for money race I have ever done
In full: Could not fault it, even though 1st year of the race and the recent bad weather which caused last minute changes to the course. I am sure the quality goody bag contents and the water bottle and bespoke wooden coaster I got at the end were worth more than the race entry!

In full: Wow, where do i start. 3 months ago, as a road only runner with about 10 years of racing under my belt, i felt i needed a challenge. This 1st time trail race in Coed y Brenin, Wales tickled my fancy and the rest is history. Living and training in pancake flat Suffolk didnt discourage me as i was relying on pure fitness to get me around. Finished this thing in 4 hours as a hurting unit, albeit a very happy one. As the run is soaking in now i cant wait for next year as i have a feeling im going to be in North Wales some time in June.

In short: brilliant experience - tough but satisfying with great marshalling and organisation
In full: My experience from online registration through to the aching muscles at the end has been extremely positive. Water-fuel stations in all the right places with helpful and encouraging marshalls. Friendly runners. Nice goodie bag content -especially the coaster. No toilet queues and best of all no rain! If you do this race then make sure you train on long steep hills. For half marathon runners, mile 12 is a killer. Great to hear your name and club called as you cross the finish line - makes you feel very special. Overall a wonderful trail experience.

In short: Tough but stunning
In full: Entered this as my first marathon. Took it very steady and was really pleased to finish. Scenery was lovely, course varied, goody bag superb, marshals excellent. This race was areal credit to the organisers. Route over 27miles as I missed a turn and organisers took decision to alter it for our safety, which was fine by me, as there were some really muddy slippy bits.would have been much worse if they hadnt altered it. Some killer hills, especially at mile 25!!!

In short: Tough, scenic, great organisation
In full: Lovely part of the country, really enjoyed the race but my legs have other ideas today. Very tough trail race, forget your PB just enjoy the scenery. The organisers couldn't have done more in trying to sort out the route to keep everyone safe with the bad weather. Very friendly, lovely atmosphere. Good goody bag. As we left the race we already had a text telling us our race time and position, very impressive. If you enjoy tough trail running this needs to be in your calender next year. (Few more loos might have been useful).

In short: Not for the faint hearted, but an excellent race that should hopefully grow into an integral fixture in the race calendar
In full: Matt Ward has organised yet another great race. This was my first attempted at a trail marathon, and I knew I had bitten off more than I could chew after 5 miles. The support staff at the water stations were incredibly friendly and gave amazing support to the hardy souls who stopped for a drink and a chat. I would recommend the race to anyone who is interested in trail running

In short: Breathtaking scenery , tough but aren't all the best trail races ?
In full: Have to admit I was really excited about competing in this marathon . Not for the fact of getting a fast time but for the challenge and the breathtaking route that it promised.

It certainly lived up to it's name in both departments without a doubt the hardest race I have competed in but the scenery made up for all of that if your after a fast time then this one is not for you . If it's a challenge coupled with a fantastic route then this one is up there with the best in my opinion .

As for feedback on what could be improved well it would have been better to not double up in places but I realise that this was out of the control of the organisers due to the weather . Some more marshals and a few more mile markers especially towards the end would have been good .

All in all though a great event well done to everyone involved I look forward to competing again next year . I may have to enter just to get that goodie bag again that was a real treat .

If you love the Snowdonia Marathon then you will love this one .
