In full: Again, a fantastic job in organizing and executing this brilliant event. I am still at a loss as to how they keep the price so low. I drove up from Birmingham for the second year running and will do so again next year. Keep up the great work, Clowne! Date of review: November 25, 2014
In short: fast In full: my times get better in this race today i pushed myself all the way and got 1h34 loved the goody bag well done Clowne road runners again see you next year Date of review: November 23, 2014
In short: Another magnificent race by Clowne Road Runners In full: I love this race, its undulating (but not so hard) and rural. Often the weather is against you - this year it was kind.
The organisation is second to none, Clowne Road Runners do a superb job. The locals and marshalls are full of cheer along the route, its very uplifting.
The goody bag is amazing considering its not an expensive run (around £13 if I recall correctly). My bag had a T-shirt, power drink, crumpets, a Tunnocks bar, blister plasters and banana in it. At the finish line there is flapjack, and there are jelly babies around the course.
Parking is easy and free. Its a fab run, I will be back next year ... and the year after that and ... Date of review: November 23, 2014
In short: A challenging course. The weather was kind this year. The organisation is second to none. The marshalls are very supportive. The t shirt and goody bag was excellent. One of my favourite half marathons. Date of review: November 25, 2013
In short: Enjoyed that In full: Nearly didn't bother turning up - weather looked poor. People kept warning me about the hills. Its November. I'm glad I did. Nice views, quality T shirt. Got a bit cramped in places with the traffic but it wasn't too bad. I could have used a bottle of the free lucozade at the end at about mile 7 but the jelly babies at mile 10 helped. Managed a PB so I didn't think it was that hilly. Be back next year :-) Date of review: November 25, 2013
In short: My local race - challenging but worth the effort In full: This is my closest race and one I will definitely attempt again. Clowne RR do a great job in organising and marshalling a tricky course which has minimal road closures. There are some challenging sections on the course, most notably through Whitwell at around 9-10 miles where you need to dig in. It's not chip timed so don't expect to match your Garmin to the second but it's great value with a good T-shirt and more importantly home made flapjack at the end. Date of review: November 25, 2013
In short: Clowne delivers again In full: Yet again a superbly organised race, and yet again the best half marathon on the circuit. If anything it gets better every year...facilities, support, catering, hospitality all excellent. I know I'm beginning to sound boring - I say this every year - but the price of this really should go up. Racers understandably feel ripped off when the prices of most HMs are reaching 30 quid, but I think they'd gladly pay that little extra to a club that is clearly doing all it can to make all runners have a fantastic experience, whatever their ability. If you run in the north midlands / South Yorkshire area and haven't done this yet, shame on you! At only 5 mins from j30 of the M1, this is quite simply the best in the area. See you next year! In short: challenging great run In full: very well organized run I have to mention that this run was no trafic free but still perfectly organized i felt a save on the road.nice t-shirt for every one who cross the finish line.Only one concern was that a bag living area was to far from a start line with make you cool downe after a warm up Date of review: November 24, 2013
