In short: A great race to experience
In full: My first half marathon and one I will remember for the rest of my life. Being from the North East I felt very proud to be apart of this race. Great race from start to finish and I have to agree the Red Arrows flew across as I crossed the finish line, looking forward to doing it again this year

In short: Incredibly overcrowded but well supported and a great atmosphere.
In full: I'm an average runner so I was in the 7th pen back from the start line, the atmosphere before the race was fantastic and getting a high five from Ant & Dec as I went over the start line made my week! My only grumble is that I found the whole course overcrowded from start to finish, spent alot of time and energy either going round or squeezing past people. However, having the Red Arrows fly over the bridge as I was on it is something I will remember forever...

In short: Fantastic atmosphere and support, brilliant HM
In full: This was my second HM and was really excited to get a place in the GNR. I loved it, the local support was great and the entertainment made the miles pass quicker. The only thing i wasn't prepared for was the constant weaving in and out of people walking from mile one, I started in a middle block so I was annoyed as I thought they should have at least started at the back. I would recommend any runner to give this race a go.

In short: Brendan sort it out dissapointing
In full: I have been looking forward to this since I started running because of injury Brendan 'Money grabbing *******' made me pay TWICE. So this year I thought I'd get a nice race. I wasn't allowed into my pen because it was full !!! or the next so I eventually pushed my way into the next under duress. Then when Ant and Dec announced we are underway all this space appears FFS. Anyway the race was boring, the crowds were fantastic Howway the lads and lasses and the last mile was the best bit. Good finish saw Chris Chataway and Angelica Bell. More choas with 1 hour queue at Metro or 90 mins for Ferry to North Shields. That was after 3 pints. She has an entry for next year so will be there one way or other but under protest won't be back after that.

In short: My Second GNR, electric atmosphere, you don't need an Ipod to get you around
In full: When 54000 people are all in the same place along with their supports to run a half marathon, there are going to be queues and frustrations, but bearing this in mind I thought that this was a really well run and well managed race. I did have to queue for 30 minutes at the start for the loos, but as long as you leave enough time to get there, it's not a problem. Fortunately we were able to stay with a friend so the hotel accommodation wasn't an issue and we didn't have too much hassle getting out of Gateshead afterwards, but I can appreciate that it can be frustrating.

As ever the atmosphere was amazing and the people of Newcastle, South Shields and Gateshead are amazing. I didn't even need to use my Ipod to get me around the course.

Goody bag was awesome, my only negative with the downpour of rain just when I'd finished!
