In short: Hot!
In full: I hadn't done this one for 3 or 4 years. I swear it used to be flatter. That or I didn't mind the very slight inclines as I did this time round. The heat and overtraining saw off any PB this time round. It's still a fast race, though, whilst also a really good one for anyone new to racing and not too worried about their speed. Very well organised and well done on preventing those eggs from melting.

In short: A good race for PB hunters and beginners alike.
In full: I found this race in RW Events the night before and decided to try it. Although quite a journey from where I live, it was well worth the trip. Organistation on the day is very good, with toilets, showers and changing facilities. But the main draw of this race must be the terrain - it's FLAT, and living, as I do, in Cornwall, it was a pleasant change from slogging up all those hills! Perhaps not the stunning scenery of other races around the area, but I got a PB, an easter egg and a spot prize, so I'm happy.

In short: Great PB potential but lacking a certain character
In full: The reality of road races for me is that if you want fast and flat, you don't get scenery. Especially if the race starts at an inland naval base.

Enjoyed this though, and made the PB which I was expecting. Good marshalling, good organisation.

Could have used another water station though, and it wasn't obvious where the start was.

Overall it's a race for PB's, not for scenery and because of the location lacked a certain something.

Shall do it next year though.

In short: My first 10K event !!!!
In full: Having enjoyed a few 5K fun runs, Hubby and I decided it was time to up the distance choosing this flat course and hoping it would be kind to a beginner.
I had one unsteady moment in the car park after seeing a sea of club vests and more people than I’d imagined but decided if we registered quickly I’d be committed with no turning back.
Registration was easy, initially we couldn’t work out where the start was but after a wander around we spotted signs across the grass.
Really sociable group waiting for the start of the race and the course was well signed with very pleasant and encouraging marshals.
Truth is once we’d started running my first-time nerves ebbed away. My goal was to run the distance so I was pleased to finish the course without stopping; therefore I had a big grin collecting my Easter egg.
Being able to purchase a coffee and snack after the run was just what we needed.
We’ll definitely do it again it seems I’ve got myself a PB to beat.

In short: This was my fifth time in 5 years and I keep coming back - this is a great course for a PB and a great atmosphere as well - shame they have stopped the cakes at the end!

In short: Fancy a Quick One?
In full: A bit of a windy ol' bank holiday made this flat 10k a lttle harder than it could've been. But a tasty chocolate egg and faultless organisation made this well worth getting out of bed for! Was also nice to meet former "fat Boy" and May's RW star Steve Way who finished first with a ridiculously fast time.
