In short: Great race and a bargain as well In full: I can't think of another endurance race in this region, which is such great value. The organisation and pre-race info was great and the mainly rural route was enjoyable. Apart from the well-advertised 'sting in the tail', there were few sections that were completely flat. The marshals and volunteers were great, the t-shirt is an attractive technical T and the goody bag was good value. A few extra loos at the start might be nice but you can't have everything. Well done Congleton Harriers and Congleton Lions for a great day! Date of review: October 7, 2014
In short: Great race and well organised In full: First year I've run this and got a PB. Don't be put off by previous year'c comments about the start - well organised with road / lane closures so plenty of room to run. Date of review: October 15, 2013
In short: exhilarating with full on cheshire charm In full: Small enough to make you feel a part of something and big enough to make you raise your game. Most importantly, a superbly organised and most charming half marathon event through mellow Cheshire pastures. Loved it!! Date of review: October 14, 2013
In short: Well organised, great race In full: Great cheers from marshall's and members of public, lovely scenery along the route and got a PB and tech tee that actually fits and good design! Fabulous race would definitely recommend. Sting in the tail isn't bad if you've run a few hills! Date of review: October 12, 2013
In short: A great race and real challenge! In full: Friendly and very well organised. Great course with a mixture of main roads and countryside. The day was made all the more worthwhile by the excellent photography provided by Bryan Dale at www.racephotos.org.uk. Great pics for great memories in the absence of medals. I'd definitely recommend this race to other runners. Date of review: October 12, 2013
In short: A great 1/4 marathon and an interesting distance. I di this race 9 years ago and its just as good now as it was then! In full: Friendly well organised race. Nice course, and very scenic once you have got off the main roads for the first two miles. I did the 1/4 marathon, but may do the half in future. Excellent photography provided by racephotos.co.uk.
Overall very pleased. Was slightly disappointed at no finishers medal for the 1/4 marathon (there was one in 2004) but this was made up for by the fact I finished 3rd overall and there were prizes for the top 3 males and females in this smaller supporting race.
Very very good race! Date of review: October 11, 2013
In short: excellent organisation, a good course, and a great atmosphere In full: Good facilities, very close to start. Nice course with good Police and marshall support Mildly undulating rather than hilly, but all flows nicely Excellent tech.tee shirt again this year. Highly recommend this race AND Congleton Harriers other two races, the Cloud 9(March) and the Passing Clouds(end Oct), both mostly offf-road AND MUCH more hilly! Date of review: October 10, 2013
In short: Fantastic value race In full: Not the easiest race, the "sting in the tail" lives up to its name, but very well organised and excellent value - with a goody bag that's better than some races costing double this and a great quality technical t-shirt.
Always a friendly race and a nice course too. Date of review: October 10, 2013
