In short: A pleasant countryside run In full: The race was definitely tougher during the first half than the second half - the wind and the hills saw to that. But the countryside was lovely, the marshals were extremely efficient and friendly (I think I was wished a 'good morning' at least 4 times and welcomed to Bedfordshire at least twice), and any race which gets easier as you go along is fine by me. I ended up running the second half of the race 10 minutes quicker than the first and feeling refreshed at the finish. The only gripe I have was the lack of medal. Date of review: January 7, 2016
In short: Superb organisation and a great race In full: From my point of view, it was faultless. Loads of friendly marshalls, well sign posted, great car parking and buses, easy race pack pick up and bag drop off. A few hills in the first half but nothing too bad and the last few miles were mostly downhill which was a nice touch. I will be back.
In short: Not as hilly as expected! In full: Having read reviews and spoken to others who had previously run this, I thought it was going to be really tough but was pleasantly surprised - it's definitely not hilly, just a few undulations - nothing too bad at all! thought the course was pretty dull (roads, pylons, scrubby trees & fields) but seen a lot worse! Great organisation at the start & finish - really well organised! Also loved the speedy results up and the text a few hours later. Great value for money & really well done. I also managed a pb of 1.34 which I wasnt expecting at all, so it's now one of my favourite races ever, haha! Date of review: December 8, 2014

In short: Perfect Pre-Xmas Challenge In full: I've done this once before, a few years back when I was returning from injury. I was badly prepared and didn't enjoy it. I thought it was too hilly.
I was better prepared this time around and didn't really notice any hills at all. Undulating yes, but hills, no. Funny how you have completely different perceptions !
I managed a PB. The last few downhill miles really helped me to get there.
Excellent marshalling, great bus transfer with no queues getting to the start or back to the car park. Food and drinks available before and after for very reasonable prices. Great momento too. Seamless organisation throughout and a joy to take part in it.
In short: Bloomin Brilliant In full: Second time I've done this race and I smashed my target! Perfect sunny weather, lots of friendly marshalls and supporters. Putting the coaches on to ship us all there and back is a great idea and our driver was really friendly. Its a lovely course, and hilly at times but can't fault it at all. The momento bag at the end was a nice idea cus am running out of space for medals. Would recommend totally. Date of review: December 10, 2013
