In short: Was my first Half Marathon 3 yrs ago - been a rock in my diary ever since!
In full: Large enough to have a great atmosphere, but not so big its a nightmare logistically. A fantastic weekend away every year and the start from the castle and stadium finish makes this a special event.

In short: great atmosphere through the villages, nice scenery
In full: I really enjoyed this half-marathon, it was scenic, friendly, and well organised. I was a little disappointed with some of the spectators on the sheep mount and had to dodge a few who were heading back towards town. Great medal and T-Shirt but otherwise the goody bag was a little disappointing and I have had better. Still I think it was a great event and well worth doing again and again. Oh to the other writer I had a Garmin 405CX Forerunneron and it measured 13.1miles so no, I don't think it was a long half-marathon.
