In short: Merseyside shows how cool it is yet again!
In full: bit late to review but having done the British 10k today, had to add a positive review. Visited Liverpool for this race and did it with hubby. Great run, space and views great. Loved the atmosphere and the friendliness of runners and spectators. Would do this again anytime, great value and very well organised. Topped off by Macca!

In short: Great race
In full: Even on a dull day it is a fantastic last stretch along Wallasey and into New Brighton along the Mersey, Liverpool over to the right. The tunnel itself is great and I think its enclosed space gives a sense of togetherness. (It’s not claustrophobic though and it’s free of traffic and fumes.)

Nice t shirt and medal - yellow, submarine - and goody bag in general good, too.

Not many drawbacks. There were not enough toilets at the start. I think there were more in 2007 and even then there was a fairly long queue; this time it was massive. Finally, those banners at the start for anticipated times were lacking.

In short: 3rd Tunnel in a row and with organisation & the potential for a pb I'll be back every year
In full: Any race that provides you with a unique experience (running thru the tunnel) would be high up my list anyway when you throw in excellent organisation (as all L1310 races are), superb value for money (others please take note) and a fast course this is an essential race for me. Yes the coming out of the tunnel is an incline but I have found I more than make up for that lost time with the decline into the tunnel and on the 4K down the promenade. I've heard some complain about the scenery and yes its a tunnel but the last 4K down the prom provides excellent views of Liverpool not that you'll notice as you'll be motoring on your way to a fast time. I've done this race 3 times and my two fastest ever times were set here. Its races like this that make me despair of other races who get it so wrong maybe Mr Rothwell and his team should produce an idiots guide!

In short: felt quicker than it was
In full: before the race wasn't really up to it, which to be honest isn't a good start!!!
...However when i got started to my suprise i really got into, would partly be to the great oggy, oggy, oggy shouts! atmosphere really pushed me! Then the fire men helping out keeping us cool, and the gorgeous water front run!!! There was so much going on the pain wasn't highlighted as much!!! haha!!!
Think little improvments would be to have more toilets as i know myself i have a good few nervous wee's before haha!!! Oh

,.....Whoever the guys was who decided on his run to stop off at the pub and then stand at the door watching us all run past you! EVil! haha!but good idea!!!
beat my PB by 5mins from the sefton park run on the 11th!!! YAy!

well done liverpool! bring on next year! an well done everyone!!! :) x

In short: It's not every day you get to experience the tunnel on foot
In full: This was the first time I'd done the Tunnel 10K and I thought that it was great. The climb out wasn't quite as bad as I'd feared, although the short hill soon afterwards proved to be something of a sting in the tail. Getting to run inside the tunnel is an interesting experience. The lack of loos at the start neeeds to be addressed. All in all, however, I'd recommend the run, although my legs did feel rather achy at the Macca gig at Anfield later on in the day.

In short: unique race
In full: The slope out of thetunnel is manageable, it is the small climb immediately after the tunnel that is a killer.

Very well organised this year with the exception of the toilet shortage at the start.

The chip meant that it was not a huge crush at the start.
