In short: Try To Tame Harvest Ride At Your Peril! In full: Challenging, all tarmac course. Not one for PBs, with my Garmin reading totalling 109 metres in elevation, 44 metres of which is contained to a 4.2km stretch on Harvest Ride!
Great local race, if lacking the aesthetics of rival courses. Top value, beautiful setting at the start and finish (South Hill Park) and decent, if sporadic, support along the course.
Don't forget to poke your head in the massage tent afterwards for a free leg massage to ease those muscles! Date of review: May 12, 2015
In short: Hidden Gem of a race.. In full: Very well run and friendly race. Good balance of runners of mixed abilities and plenty of room for everyone. Good marshalls and locals out supporting never tired of clapping. Great chunky medal, technical t-shirt and a bag for finishing. Chuck in a Mars Bar and they've nailed it :-) Well done Bracknell Forest Council. See you in 2016. Date of review: May 11, 2015
In short: Superb organisation as always In full: My first half in over 2 years, and despite lack of training am v pleased with my time. Thanks again to all of the organisers and volunteers - a great race, one of my favourites Date of review: May 10, 2015
In short: Very well organised race with great atmosphere In full: Definitely a race I would do yearly. Well organised with a great goody bad and medal. Plenty of spectators and motivation. Marshals were brilliant and water stations were regular. Undulating course for most part but highly recommended. Great value too. Date of review: May 21, 2014
In short: Very well organised race, hilly but enjoyable race In full: A bit nervous about this race as not come across it before and was suprised about how good the organisation was. Not much to fault this race so recommended to all. Only minor gripes were unattended baggage tent and no uka discount but these are vastly out weighed by the very good race. Car parks are close by so you can leave stuff in cars if need be. I was suprised by the number of happy marshalls on route and the goody bag consiting of a medal, a reusable draw string bag and a tech t-shirt were nice touches. The course itself are footpaths along side roads with a couple or road crossings. Its quite hilly from mile 7 to 10 but then I like hilly courses so this suited me fine. In short: Simply an excellent race In full: I live local, so could be biased, but if wasn't good, I'd race elsewhere. Bracknell does everything well. Keeps it simple and it all works brilliant. If they could just arrange for the breeze to be behind us next year for the 3 mile uphill section, rather than into our faces it would be perfect :-) Goody bag was excellent containing a great medal and T-shirt. Despite the weather, even the crowds were out in force in pockets, so thanks to them for coming out and cheering us on. Marshalls were great too. I finished in the top 50 this year, so gunning for top 40 next year. Date of review: April 28, 2014
In short: Well done Bracknell In full: Many much larger races could learn a lot from this well organised, friendly half marathon with an excellent goody bag. Well done to the people of Bracknell for turning out to support on a damp blustry morning. Date of review: April 28, 2014
