In short: My great eccentric wife says it is a great eccentric run, who's to argue. In full: I know it's a bit late but this race takes a while to recover from, especially with extra hills. Think this was my 7th and it gets better each year, it does I don't. Can't blame the long flowing locks of my fancy dress, more the fact it is mud, incessant inclines and declines, rocks, chalk, stiles, cow pats and more mud, but must not forget the Piper, the Jaffa cakes, the Marshalls and the fab soup. And now it's called a fell race, fantastic! Date of review: January 17, 2016
In short: Muddy, steep, fun In full: Fantastic atmosphere and organisation. Great race on the beautiful box hill with lots of mud, water, slippery steps, steep hills, crazy costumes and a bagpiper! What more could you want to clear up your new year hangover and Christmas fat Date of review: January 5, 2016
In short: Best Knacker Cracker yet In full: My 6th Knacker Cracker and my most enjoyable so far; they get better every year. Don't think I've seen so many smiley faces during this race as I did this year, despite the very tough course! Everyone helps each other along with words of encouragement and banter. The crowds are great and the marshals are second to none, always ensuring there is plenty of water, haribo, jaffa cakes and support on offer. The organisation was perfect. A lovely cheese and pickle roll, tomato soup and carrot at the end; surprisingly refreshing! Thank you Dr Rob and his merry team for another superb race. Can't wait for next year! In short: The Best race EVER ! In full: Love this race and back for my 9th time, fantastic atmosphere as always this year and brilliant costumes which makes the event fun well if you can call it fun, although i did enjoy being Dangermouse. A big thank you to Dr Rob and his team and all who marshaled, roll on Leith hill and then the picnic.... Date of review: January 4, 2016
In short: No better way to start the year! In full: I love this race. Where else are you pursued by a fox, a load of men on hobby horses, super heroes, elves and a duck in a race? It starts with a rousing rendition of God Save the Queen which is a nice touch. The T shirt and mug are great moments and there is always a great collection of nibbles/soup at the finish. Oh and carrots.
This race is not to be missed even if you walk all 10 hideous kms of it. Date of review: January 4, 2016
