In short: A great Autumn half In full: A really friendly race. The parachutists made a memorable start. The course undulates but it's still possible to get a PB as it has a brilliant downhill finish which I really loved. Date of review: September 14, 2013
In short: Great support, pretty course, outstanding organisation In full: Only my seconf Half, I found it a more challenging course than my first (Liverpool) as it is quite undulating. The scenery is pretty though, and there was great support along the route as it passed through the villages. Impressive organisation - pre-race pack was emailed and told you everything you could possibly need to know, number & chip collection was smooth and we started bang on time. Water stations on the course well signed and the marshals were terrific. Nice tech t-shirt & good medal, not that enamoured of the Asda goodies as I'm not a Quaver fan! Lots of thought had gone into the whole event pre- & post run in terms of things to do, and great use of the race Facebook page to keep runners motivated during training. In short: Growing event which is well organised and nicely challenging In full: Have run this race every year since inception and the organisers are making a real effort to grow it steadily year on year. This year the event village was much improved and the RAF Falcon's parachuting in for the start from beautiful blue skies was very special. The course is nicely challenging and offers real PB potential for those prepared for the hills in the first half of the race. The course is well marshalled and there are regular water stations. Highly recommended Date of review: September 9, 2013
In short: Well organised and a gorgeous course In full: Good varied course with a few hills to keep it interesting in the first half, Cheshire lanes and villages giving way to a lovely shady path at half way (might be tricky it the number of runners increases a lot in the future), and growing enthusiastic support towards the end. Excellent marshalling: four water stations worked well, start and finish well organised. Good friendly feel all round: looks like the park and village would keep spectators entertained while we were running. Will be back. Date of review: September 9, 2013
In short: A very good race, well put together. In full: Great race all round, well organised and a pleasure to run in, with the only very minor complaint being the queue for the medal at the end. The hills were hard work (not enough training!) but some parts of the course were very pleasant, especially the stretch through the park just after mile 7, sun shining through the trees, gentle breeze, slight downhill, what's not to like. Despite the hills, liked the course and will hopefully be back next year for the 4th time.
Well done and thank you to all involved. Date of review: September 8, 2013
In short: An undiscovered jewel in the North West calander In full: Well organised reasonable price if you enter early. Hilly for the first five miles but a good course and a run that has impressed me and i will be back next year Date of review: September 8, 2013
