In short: Nice park, but killer hills!
In full: I entered this race as it was local and for a good cause. There was a good atmosphere and everyone there was in good spirits.

NEGATIVE: There was a little problem with some ribbons which held the medal. Some of the ribbons like mine were missing the event name and date and it was just plain black. However I only realised this when I saw other runners with the printed ribbon on the train. I was annoyed that there wasn't somebody to let the unwitting runners know. The course was more challenging than I had anticipated, who decided to put THAT last gradient in? it was hard on the legs.

POSITIVE: The problem over the medal was dealt with in a very positive/friendly way by David Krangel (race director) who issued me with the correct ribbon/medal after I phoned him. For those thinking about entering this race, be prepared for a hard race, but a good atmosphere.

Goody Bag & Medal: It's a small medal (4cm diameter) but the ribbon does have the event name and date. Everyone got to pick up some bananas and water/energy drinks. The lady handing out the energy drinks kindly gave me two energy drinks, I certainly needed them!

Many thanks to the chap who ran 6km of the race with me, even though he was a foot taller and had a longer stride length than me! We chatted all the way through, but he went solo with 750m to go. Talking to him helped divert my attention away from the pain in my legs!

In short: Really fun, very well organised! A real laugh!
In full: This was my first run, so it will always be very special for me! Greenwich Park is lovely and we were really lucky with the weather: it rained before and after but not during the race!
The race was really well organised, marshalls very friendly and encouraging!
Lovely medal and goody bag for all at the end and the costumes were hilarious!
I'll definitely be there next year!!

In short: Tough race with loads of hills and unlikely to be a race where you will get your PB - but nice scenery to enjoy as you suffer the 3 long uphills..

In short: What a great race - loved it!!
In full: Having travelled through torrential rain and been stuck in traffic for 30 mins I really didnt think we would make it to this one. As we approached the start line up the hill they had started already!! We were helped v.quickly through registration although couldnt even see the crowd when we started! Great marshalls and v.friendly atmosphere. Some amazing 'tashes - not only from the boys!! Three, I think, killer hills last one was evil - though 5 mins off my 10K PB for me so well pleased. Nice to have a medal although a bit cheap and goody bag too. Seemed v.good value for a 10K. Would definitely do it again.

In short: Storms clear for a well organised and good spirited, but all too hilly run.
In full: Great organisation, great cause - just a shame the course, beautiful though it is, is far from flat/undulating, criss-crossing a sod of hill that is Greenwich Park several times.

If it could have been steered around the park rather than the laps up and down, I'd go back. As it is, kills your shins on the downs and saps any enjoyment on the way ups.

Still, don't have a downer on the day - the forecast storms cleared in perfect time for the day and the marshalls, organisation and spirit were all excellent.

Probably wouldn't do it again on this route though.
