In short: Weell done to the organisers In full: The main thjing to say here is well done tpo the organisers for making this happen at all following the demise of the flower show and the poor weather in the days before the race. A miracle of flexible planning and organisation, so many thanks for keeping this running Date of review: July 22, 2012

In short: Well done! In full: Thanks to the hard work and regular updates of the organisers, the race was able to go ahead. Yes the route was changed but the weather was terrible in the previous weeks and evidence of recent flooding was still present. Not as big a turnout as previous years but still a great race. Once again many thanks SLH Date of review: July 15, 2012

In short: very well organised as always In full: The orgaisers worked wonders toensure that the event went ahead following the demise of this year's flower show due to a little rain. Added to that much less car parking space. A challenging event as always and no frills - well worth the effort. Date of review: July 14, 2012

In short: nice but not as good as previous years In full: have done this race for a few years now and yes the cancellation of the show and fair took the highlight of the race for me. to be fair the weather was a big problem but some of the last minute changes worked well, parking was fine in the allocated car parks but the club house was a nightmare if like me you entered on the day. at the end you got a nice medal which made it all worth while, lastly a BIG thank you to all the marshalls who braved the horrible weather without you races would never happen.... In short: Well organised and charming In full: A very enjoyable event, well-marshalled and well organised, being part of the flower show makes for a nice atmosphere. The course is quite undulating but PB potential is high as this is about the only 7 mile race that I know. Good to have a race on a Saturday and we were very lucky with the rain, which stopped about 10 minutes before the race began. Date of review: July 18, 2011

In short: Very well marshalled on quiet road course In full: Having run badly marshalled races it was great to have a well-marshalled one - shows the value of having running clubs doing the organising. Unusual distance, so very little comparison for PBs. Date of review: July 17, 2011

In short: Wet but didn't spoil it In full: It always helps if you have a good run, but I've done this race for 5 out of the last 6 years and quite a few times before that and they've been a mixed bag. The Chipstead Flower Festival, now in its 102nd year, is a blast from the past and helps lift this from an average race to something special. The course is undulating but perfectly runnable even for beginners and there's a great cameraderie plus of course it's on a Saturday which is good for those with other Sunday commitments. Highly recommended. Date of review: July 17, 2011

In short: The first time that I can remember not doing this event in blazing sunshine!! In full: A rare Saturday afternoon excursion, a simple an event with no frills but well worth doing. And how them managed to get the Spitfire to do the flying display beggars imagination. Maybe get Shepherd Neame to sponsor the event if they can manage the same in 2012?
I'll be back and remember, every day above ground is a bonus!! :-) Date of review: July 16, 2011

In short: Midsommer Murders with a race thrown in In full: The Elmore is one of those races that you take cynics along to and they come back year after year. It takes place as part of the Chipstead Flower Festival - dog shows, prize vegetables (the vicar always wins most of the prizes) and cream teas included. It would be a shame if there wasn't the odd murder to spice things up as this is truly middle class England at it's finest albeit a stones throw from South London and the M25. The race itself starts and finishes in the show-ground and you're definitely an integral part of the event. The course covers largely traffic-free country lanes with some rolling hills in the middle. As it's an odd distance, you'll almost certainly set a PB the first time around but it's not a slow course by any means. It takes place on a Saturday so plenty of time to recover before the long Sunday run; or like one of our club members you could have run the Bromley ParkRun at 9am, the Elmore at 2pm and the Surrey Slog the following day!
