In short: Friendly, lots of dogz, but suprisingly hard.
In full: This was my first 10k for a few months after an injury lay-off, and I had thoughts of trying to beat my PB. By the end I was 3 minutes off my PB, and I think the steady hill climb for the first 5k had a lot to do with it. Admittedly I already knew of the hill climb (well done to Calne Leisure Centre for top notch height profile on their web site!) but running it really brings home the reality!

On the upside, the route was lovely, the roads clear most of the time, and the atmosphere very friendly and family oriented. A free sports massage awaited all finishers, which I thought was a superb touch. The goody bag has a bottle of fizzy lucozade sport and a mars bar, and we all got a banana. The icing on the cake was the medal. Impressive! 8D

It's a good race - just not a PB race, but at this time of year it's definitely worth going for if you live around this area.

In short: Well organised with a relatively fast route.
In full: I ran this event in the spring and am pleased to say I enjoyed it just as much this time round. Being new to running the relatively small field of mainly club runners can seem intimidating, however once you’ve joined the crowd at the start you soon realise it’s a very friendly event. Additionally; facilities for spectators with young kids was excellent.
It might have been my imagination but did the race start early? My wife made her way to the finish at 11.45 but I was already in so she missed me and I’m no 44 minute 10k runner I can assure you!

In short: Pretty flat.
In full: Well organised. Very well marshaled. Distance markers were sorted following earlier comments. In fact the only thing that was rubbish was me!

In short: Good course along quiet country lanes
In full: Flattish 10K course along quiet country lanes; friendly marshal's; well organised; didn't bother collecting a medal at the finish - how about something different?

In short: Flat(ish) course, friendly marshalls, small field
In full: Children ran the Fun Run beforehand, and then there was a long wait before the 10k started - the only organisational snag of the morning, in my opinion. Small field, lots of club runners who all seemed to know each other at the start, but all friendly enough (especially at the back where I was).

Unexpected hill at 5k, but a fast course and I got a new PB so pleased with that.

Thanks for a good way to spend a Sunday morning!

In short: Virtually Flat 10k with a huge PB Potential
In full: After reviewing the feedback from previous years I was quite sceptical about this 10k but have to say I was pleasantly surprised with it! Virtually no hills with the exception of a small one at the 5k mark which lasts about 30 seconds. The atmosphere was minimal but this was all on country lanes. Most of the runners seemed to be part of a running club which made me feel like I was at the back of the crowd but nonetheless had my best 10k time since May finishing in 50 mins 12secs. I will definitely be there next time round and, with some extra training before hand, will try to get my PB. Fun Run before was great as my little 3 year old daughter did her first run there....proud father moment! Dont know how I feel about her getting the same medal as me though.
