In short: New Seafront route good
In full: New Seafront route good even found a Canvey height.

Shame it was in the 80's as it too hot to run wihtout any shade On the route especially along the seawall. Nothing the organsiers could do although I am sure next year it will be freezing.

Could the race start at 10.00 or 10.30 next year?

In short: Quick & Friendly
In full: I really enjoyed this race in the hottest conditions I ever run in. Beat my personal best when I was happy at just getting round without stopping. Don't understand not being allowed to have MP3's and I did miss not being able to run to my favorite Spice Gurls track! (Spice up your life) Also could have had more distance markers and chip timing but very friendly helpful marshalls and will be back next year.... I just hope it rains!

In short: Well-organised race with challenging surface and sea winds
In full: Really enjoyed this route (some nice views of the sea and the rattle of boat-sails) though it's definitely tough on the times: lots of gravel, some uneven grass paths and really big sea winds coming on and off the island. The 10K attracted about 100 runners and there were three water stations, which was good -- but they used bottles which seemed inefficient compared to cups. Hope they cleared them all up.

Also the markers were a bit weird: 5 miles and 6 miles but nothing before that (and weird to do it in miles too). Luckily I knew this from previous reviews so wasn't too thrown but it's worth keeping in mind.

In short: Flat off road route, too narrow to easily pass slower runners in the fist 2 miles until the field was more spread out. Found the route very repetitive running along by the side of the sea wall for roughly 9 out of 10km.
