In short: Great trail race In full: The hill at the start is a killer. Another well organised race by Purple Patch, marshalling was excellent. The mixture of gravel track, grass, woodland trail and road made for an excellent run. Enjoyed the woodland trail. Will be back next year. Date of review: July 12, 2011

In short: Undulating it was not but lovely race neverthless In full: Wow! Very nearly turned round and went home again once I realised the hill was the start but glad I stayed. Fabulous marshalls, extra water stops as it was quite a humid day and quiet, scenic route. Not brilliant for the spectators who had been promised bacon butties to get them there and then the snack wagon turned up late. Could be tempted to try again next year (once the memory of the hills has faded...) Date of review: July 12, 2011

In short: Wonderful race - fab scenery and great encouragement from marshalls In full: First 1K a shocker but after that lovely ups and downs, through woods and lanes. Really enjoyable race! Date of review: July 12, 2011

In short: A special trail race around Disraeli's back garden In full: Well-organised but informal race with excellent marshalling on trails around Hughenden Manor. A special race - do it before it catches on and gets too popular! Date of review: July 11, 2011

In short: Great race. Definitely more hilly than undulating but challenging and a good trail run. Organisation spot on as usual from Purple Patch. Really enjoyed it - will be back next year! Date of review: July 11, 2011

In short: Not undulating. Make no mistake, this was hilly. In full: Great atmosphere, excellent organisation. Despite what the profile suggests the hills are not over after the first 5k (I could have cried at 9k) but fun variety of scenery and trails. I'll be back to get in under the hour! In short: Scenic, challenging and very well organised In full: Great little race this one. Hilly and rough enough to be a bit challenging, set in a lovely location around Hughenden and great organisation from Purple Patch. The arch and flags arounfd the start gave it the feel of a much bigger race and the apple at the end was a nice touch. Marshalling and signage round the course was spot on.
Only slight niggles for me was that as the race grows in size they will need more loos (nearer to the start would be good too) and these ran out of loo roll early on. The sausage and bacon baps were a bit prcey at £3.60 too (Ciabata or not!), but as these were the ponly food available I had no choice (too early a start for breakfast!) Date of review: July 10, 2011

In short: Never a dull moment on this trail race, short start climbs and rough terrian In full: I really enjoyed this far more than a road race and its probably the best trail race I have run. Getting a PB for the 10k is going to be very hard on this course with steep but short climbs all the way thru. You even have to jump over a log at 9k. Fantastic stuff. Date of review: July 10, 2011
