In short: Excellent Coastal Tester
In full: I have never seen so many marshalls in my life. And very lovely with it. Helped by the weather, the route was beautiful with enough variation to keep it interesting although maybe the rutted loop around the playing fields was too interesting. Not bothered about goody bags or medals but some sort of changing facilities and showers would be welcome as the drive home was a bit fruity.

In short: Great race, a must run.
In full: As usual the first point is to thank the organisers and marshalls for giving their time. The marshalls were very supportive. In my view this is a really great race for Spring marathon preparation, though for me it's best treated as a training run rather than a race. The scenery is highly varied. Overall the course is interesting but pretty flat.

Thanks to TRAC for organising this. The effort put in by clubs like yours is greatly appreciated. Also thanks to whoever decided this was a Kent Grand Prix event. The same again next year please!

The club I belong to sent 20 runners on a 120- mile round trip, leaving at about 06:30, which shows what we think of it.

Even the weather was good, with little wind and some sun.

I heard a lot, none good, about the short cross-country bit. I didn't mind it, but clearly I was in the minority.

I'm not bothered about goody bags. For me some water, a momento and some chocolate is more than enough. For me the important features are marshals, to stop me getting lost, and water stations.

If I can avoid injury and get there I'll be there next year. Please run it again!

In short: A great well organised race, top draw!!
In full: My first 20 miler and I totally enjoyed the experience. The marshals were great, the route stunning in places and a great finishers medal to! The route in the main is quite flat but there are a few short and sharp hills to keep you on your toes! Other race organisers could learn lots from this great race. Well done Thanet road runners!

In short: Enjoyed the course and scenery but need to find an extra half mile somewhere and lose the off road section!

In short: Perfect build up for marathon
In full: I ran this race last year and had no issues, although I did think this year was better. I preferred the change of route and also much prefer chip timing - how great to see your result so soon after a race!

I thought the marshals were superb throughout and very encouraging and cheerfull. There was a moment when I was running a little alone, so I am glad the marshals were clearly visible and in all the right places.

The information given to me beforehand in my race pack meant there were no surprises such as parking and toilet facilities etc.

Admittedly the weather made the race more enjoyable than a 20 miler in wind and rain and the fact I got a nice 15 minute pb was very pleasant too!

A fair mix of abilities and in such a race, all are welcome - not just the faster club runners.

When training for a marathon, knowing you have to get at least one 20 miler in - this for me is a total no brainer!

Well done Thanet!

In short: Classic tester before a spring marathon. Pleasant, no frills coastal routes
In full: Do this event every year. Very good organistaion and lovely supportive Marshalls. Probably bulk of runners are club people, as is a Kent GP event. Its a classic test of current ability before a spring marathon, so would suit all levels. Route is pleasant mainly along coastal paths. Suprisingly undulating! Would say average in terms of value - medal, water, choc bar at the end.

In full: This was my training run before the London Marathon and I loved it! Have never run this far before and am well chuffed. The run between the trees and on the field at Bay Point was very unwelcome and I was worried I'd damage my ankles. My goody bag was very poor and disappointing - bottle of water, medal and a chocolate bar

In short: Goodie bag could have been better
In full: I felt that the goodie bag was a bit lightweight for such a otherwise big event.
