In short: Excellent, no other words needed.
In full: In almost 18 years of running I have to say that this was by far and away the best, well marshalled, scenic, race I've ever run. The surfaces were excellent, and would be even more so with rain. The course has everything, climbs, drops, lots of stiles, oh and a lake to run round. The scenery was idyllic with the morning fog being burnt off by the rising sun. Oh, and the lack of mile markers meant I wasn't checking my watch every few minutes, and it was quite a surprise to see the finish when I did. Shame only a coaster, when the fun-runners get a goody bag, but everything else was splendid.

In short: Overall excellent, especially the marshalls
In full: My first proper race ever. Magnificent weather, scenery and organisation. Tough hills and lovely rolling countryside in the main. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

In short: The Best !
In full: A truely excellent run. The course has everything, tiny bit of road, loads of trail, track, grass. Hills are steep & tough but never too long. Scenery is nice enough to (almost) take your mind the climbs. The twice I've done it, its not rained in the previous week, but I would imagine a bit of rain would make the whole thing very interesting. Big thanks to the very excellent marshalling, this is one very friendly event with a superb atmosphere from beginning to end. See you next year.

In short: Good race - Enjoyed by all
In full: I'd say this was a good multi terrain rather than a good XC race, but I'm sure with rain in the last week it would be all together different race. Car park was full when we arrived so had to fend for ourselves. Was disappointed with no medal or goody bag at the end but the coaster will at least get used. Shame pub opposite the race end wouldnt allow kids in, which has nothing at all to do with the race organization.

In short: Where was the mud?
In full: The was a well organised race on an excellent course. Fairly challenging in places [a couple of the hills were tough], with some easier road / trail sections thrown in. This race would be an absolute scream in the wet as certain sections would have become 'rather hazardous' to say the least.

Really enjoyed this though - good atmosphere & well worth turning up for. Nice finishing memento but something 'else' would have been nice.

Definitely do it again though, pray for rain next year ;-)

In short: Top race
In full: A nice event with great scenery. The marshalls did a good job under difficult circumstances as I think the course prevented them from being able to see all the runners coming. My only gripe is that they could have done better on the changing / toilet facilities. I'll do it again though.

In short: Hills, sand, trails and a bit of mud!
In full: Once out of the town the course really opens up with some nice scenery and steady ups and downs (some more steady than others!). Lovely running beside the lake. A good event that's worth the trip. Minor negatives: more pre-race info re where to park would have been a plus as would have some form of supervised bag storeage. Well marshalled and routemarked throughout.
