In short: Ouch, my quads! Mud, hills, pain, hills, more pain, more hills and mud... but I'll be back for more! In full: What a fantastic race. I'm rubbish off road and on hills but can honestly say I loved this race. Stands up well against the Slaughterford 9 as one of the best off road events in the area. We're going to be back next year to crack 2 hours! Date of review: November 25, 2013
In short: Tough, muddy, steep, challenging...and great fun In full: Back for my second year at this challenging half marathon. Lovely views on route, they take away some of the pain of the hills. Great encouragement from the marshalls and other competitors. Some nice touches include having names on the race numbers, also a good quality technical shirt with a list of competitors names on the back. Date of review: November 25, 2013
In short: Well worth the drive from Launceston In full: Low key, friendly atmosphere both at the start, during and at the end. Excellent long sleeve tech shirt, chunky medal, bottle of beer, flap jack etc at the end. Free parking and no loo queue. Hard course with a bit of everything thrown in. I am glad I ran and will again. Date of review: November 25, 2013
In short: my god, i love finishing this race!! In full: as usual a fantastic race, well organised and very friendly. hills and mud and hills and mud and hills and beer. Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: Another great event In full: Not as much mud as last year (shame), great organisation, great marshalls and feed station helpers, and great supporters. Many thanks to all concerned. A real toughie. Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: Hilly, Rugged, Hard Work. In full: Very Hilly Course, don't normally like loop courses, but given the severity of the Hills there was a weird perverse enjoyment in knowing what was coming the second time around.
Actually found the down hills more painful than the ups.
Great atmosphere at finish and Bottle of beer at the finish (a Great Touch) Date of review: November 24, 2013
