In short: Nice race dispite the weather
In full: I did the winter ballbuster in Box Hill the day before this race so was still tired. Great organiasation and friendly course marshals made up for the bad weather. Great medal and T-shirt. There were cakes to but I couldn't have them as I am vegan. Normally I don't like lap races but this one was OK.

In short: A fast half on closed roads .
In full: Really enjoyed this race even though was a bit damp and windy. Well organised, good support, excellent t- shirt and medal, chip timing, top cakes! Raising funds for a very worthy cause - respect to Bexhill Runners.

In short: Flat, fast, well organised, great medal and cake!
In full: Great race. Weather was (pretty) kind to us in the end (though did feel sorry for the kids!)

Well organised with great encouragement from the marshalls and the few hardy supporters around the start/finish and around the course. Nice touch to have your name overall and lap time announced after each lap.

Initially missed the mile markers, but ended up with a PB in 1:28 so maybe I'm better without them!

Great quality medal and a huge selection of cakes at the end. I'll be back in 2010.

In short: Good PB 4 lap course with good cake, medal & T-shirt!
In full: Windy as hell last year, rain this year.. to be honest was perfect once it stopped lashing down (for the kids!), knocked nearly 9 mins off my pb and got under 90 mins so i'm loving it! \o/

Great marshalls!

See you next year, will try and do all four.

Thanks X

PS was better without the mile markers >)

In short: Definite PB Potential and a Nice Medal
In full: The wind was kind to us this year. Didn't think it would be half hour before the start, but then the rain abated and the wind calmed. 4 laps of same route wasn't as tedious as expected - nice to go past the start/finish area where there was a little crowd of wellwishers. Commentator very kindly announcing your personal time/lap at each passing was appreciated. Nice medal and tshirt.

In short: Flat, fast four looped course... for a great cause!
In full: Did feel sorry for the kids race as it belted down, hadn't quite stopped by the time the main race started but wasn't as bad. Did rain a bit through the race but in fits and starts.

Course is very flat, four loops up and down the sea front essentially, just one very short (20m long) incline/decline) on each loop down to the beach level. Whilst looped courses aren't for everyone I quite enjoy them, loops 2 and 3 just seemed to fly by...

Just the one water station at the start/finish, which you passed on each loop, and if I had one minor suggestion for improvement would be to have the tables on both sides of the course so the fast runners can get them the same time as the slow ones... or have a second water station out on the course somewhere.

Marshalls were excellent, very encouraging and a special thank you to the announcer and a marshall who looked up our names on every lap and gave us a name check.

Roads were closed which adds to a fast time, there wasn't a whole lot of crowd support, but given the weather not surprising!

Very nice medal at the end, chip timing and best of all a whole table of cakes which were incredibly nice and very welcome. Big thank you to the cooks!

"Free" t-shirt for a donation to the Poppy Appeal... all in all excellent and deserving of more support, were about 450 runners or so which I think they announced was a record.

(To the chap who couldn't find any water at the end, when we finished (2.07) there was a table after the medals were handed out with water and bananas...)

In short: Excellent organisation, great marshals, quick course
In full: Another great Poppy Half Marathon from the guys and girls over in Bexhill. Good organisation, fantastic medal and T shirt, a nice friendly local race. Sure, it's four laps, but you are along the prom for around 2.5 miles on each, with enough of a loop back round the park to break it up a bit and it's pretty easy to gauge your efforts. Wind and rain once again, but not as bad as last year!
