In short: Yet again a good race....but still a tough one on the race calender! In full: Yep....a good race, well organised and very enjoyable scenary. All the enjoyment and I still can't seem to master all of those hills. The legs still end up aching for days after. Date of review: January 29, 2007
In short: note to self: do some hill training! In full: i have run this and thanet 10 back-to-back 3-4 times, and always run this one fastest in what is clearly a much slower (hillier) course. wonder why? Date of review: January 28, 2007
In short: My first race - and it's made sure I'll be racing again In full: Bit congested for the first bit - hills were interesting - and the bonus of dodge-the-dog-walker was fun (but not for her, it seemed).
Didn't know what to expect but you runners turned out to be a friendly crowd :). I had a good time and I'll definitely be back.
In short: very well organised, interesting scenery, mad dog walkers and a horrible hill at 4 miles - what a great way to spend a Sunday morning ! many thanks to organisers - well done for coping so well with the impatient traffic! In full: Date of review: January 28, 2007
In short: Good ,testing Winter workout In full: The first race of the year is always a bit of a shock to the system !I tend to alternate this one with the Dartford 10 and there's not much between them.As regards its 2007 incarnation :
Scenery:Great ! almost all on country lanes with picturesqe winter scenery and through pleasant, quiet villages.
PB potential: in January-are you kidding ? ! 2 challenging hills, but mostly mildly undulating and little traffic means it's quicker than it seems when you're running.
Atmosphere:rather flat and unremarkable. This is where, imho, the Dartford 10 is better.
Organisation: top marks all round.Excellent directional signing from the outskirts of Canterbury, plenty of nearby car parking, very effeicient marshalling etc-"10 out of 10".
Value: not cheap and the long sleeved shirt is distinctly "so so".Sorry-that's unduly precious-the race itself was well worth the money.
Beginner-friendliness: you'll certainly find an easier course, but the size of the field means you'll have plenty of company.
Overall: an enjoyable, challenging race to blow away the Winter cobwebs.Needs a bit more "oomph" if it's to maintain its popularity.
In short: lovely day out in the country In full: got a pb today so well chuffed. bit congested up the hill and its always nice to see a loon out walking their dog against a stream of hundreds of runners. i'll be back next year Date of review: January 28, 2007
