In short: Good race, but traffic a big problem.
In full: Had a good race. The traffic was a mare really. However, only on about 10 per cent of the course. Good atmosphere. The lady marshall on mile four needs drug testing, she was fantastically high for the whole twently miles!! Cheering on the 'terribkle twins' throughout. Great supporter/marshall. Can we hire her for parties? A very hot day, however, one moan. Three toilets for male runners was not good. Can you hire more for next year?? If the traffic was sorted for the first mile of the race, would do it again.

In short: Great race before a marathon, the laps good for spectators
In full: Good HQ and fantastic to be able to leave your personal drinks at the first drinks station, to collect every 5 miles. Well marshalled and the course was varied and the undulations stopped it being boring.

In short: Top class marshalling but get the band to play something more upbeat!
In full: Really good, dedicated, friendly marshalling. A beautiful day, the first of Spring. Well manned waterstations. Course is fairly varied, I've been to worse (The Worthing 20 springs to mind!!) Nice, T shirt and quite a funky medal + some well received chocolate. V. Good. Certainly PB potential despite the undulations.
Oh dear God the traffic on the way out of the lido car park - thank goodness for the member of the public who helped out with traffic policing!

In short: Very enjoyable 20 miler, good up hills but you were rewarded with the down hills.
In full: Great race and definately in my diary for next year. If I was pushed to find a negative it would be the amount of time it took to get out of the cap park, however I still had a smile even after that!
Nothing not to like and good course for anyone marathoning as the hills are up and down and nothing too severe.
Organsiation was spot on and couldn't have asked for more, goody bag was good to.

In short: Perfectly organized - shame for the traffic
In full: Extremely well organized, but running on 40 miles open roads without pavement doesn't seem a good idea to me. On the first lap, after less than half a mile, a car began revving and overtaking the runners, showing very little respect for marshalls and runners (eventually it was stopped by a policeman). I've never seen anything like that in the UK, I thought this would only happen in Italy.
I understand it is not possible to close roads for the full duration of the race, but I'd close at least the first mile of the first mile. I was also overtaken by a huge truck on a bit of road without pavement and other cars coming from the opposite direction. Running around Hampstead Heath would have been a safer option.
Personally, I'd have chosen a different route for the race (paths and residential roads only), especially on a day like yesterday with plenty of traffic around.
Apart from this, everything else was perfect, including warm showers at the end!

In short: Testing in the warm spring sunshine
In full: Really enjoyed the race. My first ever 20 mile race in prep for FLM. Marshalls were first rate, especially the lady by the golf driving range. Will definitely run it again
