In short: A great event in a little known part of the country between the Wye and the Severn. Great organisation at this very friendly event and so much better than rrunning on roads.

In short: Tougher than it looks
In full: First time I have run this race and I was very impressed with the whole day. Found it tougher going than I expected and was slightly caught out by the warm weather. The race maybe through the forest but there wasn't a great deal of shade.

In short: Great race
In full: Me again - hit return, not tab was going to say....

Second time I have done this one and it will hopefully become a permanent fixture in my diary.
A bit crowded for the first couple of miles but as I knew what was coming up I wasn't concerned. There are a couple of steep little inclines that I chose to walk up as this was not a race for me but a great training run. Wouldn't have described it a PB course but one of the people I gave a lift to knocked some 7 minutes of hers!!

Maybe we should try to keep this one one quiet in case disgruntled Bath runners find out about it but I fear that it is too late for that

In short: Once again - a fantastic race
In full: Have run this twice, 2008's weather couldn't have been more different, and both occaisions were a pleasure - helping to prove what a special event it is!
I ran with a muscle strain, not something I normally do- but didn't want to miss this!!!

In short: Tough start, fast finish
In full: We parked in a car park a couple of miles from the start and had to get the shuttle bus to the start, this service was fine with no hiccups, the start seemed well organised with minimal queueing for toilets.

Once the race starts it's quite a crammed start with not much room on the narrow forest trails, this started to space out after a mile or two though, the first nine miles of the race were quite a climb with a particularly tough winding hill on the 5th mile.

There was then a tough steep but short hill on 9 mile which once at the top, it was all pretty much down hill from there to the finish. There was a very sharp downhill just before the 12 mile marker which was tough but overall a very fast finish to the race.

We received a medal and the finish, and some free Ribena and sweets, a good atmosphere on a nice day in the forest made this a very pleasurable run.

In short: Excellent organisation before and during race
In full: What's not to like about a well organised race on a sunny day in beautiful scenery? Very impressed with pre-race information on major road closure. Well marked course well marshalled. Only 1 criticism.... no WATER at the end.
